I'm getting the weird impression that it is now conservatives that are becoming the "relativists".
Remember how liberals were accused of being "relativists", with fuzzy definitions of right and wrong and how conservatives in turn claimed to have "firm standards"? Well, to me it sort of seems like that is diminishing. Suddenly a girl that flahes boobs or one that got pregnant outside of wedlock are the new paragons of conservatism because, hey, we all make mistakes. And of course creationism should be taught in schools because "different viewpoints on controversial issues are important" Yeah right...

1. They have always been like this
they are the party of do as I say, not as I do.

2. This is the strategic framework used by the M$M: present 2 sides, BOTH right-wing, w/one as moderate
That way it sends the signal to the public mind: this far, and no further. It makes either 'side' (which is actually just ONE side) appear no more credible than the other. Clearly this is a preferred tactic of a media apparatus that is anything but "watchdog."

It likewise prevents genuine progressive/liberal/leftist views and ideas from even being considered, so that when people are exposed to them from some marginalized source, those views/ideas seem WEIRD ... and being terrified of what others may think of them, many will avoid that label at any cost.

3. Kinda how like they're the party of "getting government off our backs"
except when it comes to our most private decisions like whether to get an abortion or who we should marry.

5. "Becoming"?!?!?
They always have been!

You see... they are the "Upside-Down People."
Everything about their worldview is upside-down to reality.
Everything they "think" and believe is wrong.
Everything they say about "liberals" is a projection.

Impression?
No, it's more than an impression...

6. Conservatives, in my view, have now become the party of
convenience.
