Figure it out
1. We've got Cheney, who until recently didn't care what the public thought about him, coming out and defending his record and torture.

2. We're smart enough to know that torture doesn't work. It's used to get what you want, even if it's not necessarily the truth. Want to link that villager to Al Qaeda? Waterboard him until he "confesses" that he was at a training camp. Want to link Al Qaeda to Iraq and yet have no evidence? That's OK! Torture an Al Qaeda detainee until he "confesses" that there are Al Qaeda camps in Iraq.

They really could have cared less about what the public thinks of them, yet the neoconservatives are talking about it now, of all the times they could have talked about it, they choose now...

Could it be because they view their time out of power as a vacation rather than an ousting?
