Congressman Steve Israel has withdrawn from the NY Senate race at President Obama's request. |
|
Politico broke it, and it was confirmed by an email from Israel himself. Obama personally asked him not to challenge Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, over concerns that a messy primary battle in New York would take up time and resources that could be used elsewhere.

He's backing Carolyn McCarthy's ridiculous "No Fly, No Buy" bill, anyway, so it doesn't speak well for his judgement.

3. Yeah, that pissed me off too. |

I expect that out of McCarthy, a conservative former Repub who doesn't know her nose from her chin, but Israel should have known better. The guy voted for impeachment investigations into Bush, and he's endorsing the no-fly list?
