I took my Gay Friend to his first Dem Party meeting today.

He came away gassed. Excited as hell.

He's a guy who rebuilt his life from the ground up. Got in a lot of trouble early on, did some time, now is about to graduate from college and go onto graduate school. He was naturally cynical about politics, as I guess anyone who is the member of any group that takes a lot of guff, like being GLBTI, should be.

Then again, the guy is whip-smart and I kinda guessed he would Get It. He did. He will be talking to his GLBTI friends in school and here, in this rural county. And that's all I was really hoping for.

Damn, was he dressed to the 9's, too. I wore sweats. ;-)

Take a friend to a party meeting today. Especially friends who have spent their lives on the margins. For whatever reason.

Now...who can I pick on next...:D

Do it. Also talk about the republican wrongs to your friends who think they're republican....it can work. I have two lifelong republican friends who have seen the light. They have both told me that they were wrong, and both have decided that voting for republicans is a self-defeating exercise. It's been interesting to watch them change their minds.
