1. I do respect soldiers, I know they sacrifice alot to defend the people they love.

I may have some different views, but I do not disrespect them.

But Rumsfeld using the verses from the Bible for recruiting, especially if he knew it is not the intent of the verse, is wrong.

And I think he knew he was manipulating it for his own means, however he may have believed he was right. And in truth, only the judge in heaven really knows.

The quotes where mostly from the books of the Prophets and Psalms. I think there was one from the apostle's letters, which are included in the New Testament. The rest are from the Old Testament/Jewish Bible.

It is a mostly christian country. If I was in the war and they wanted to put some pagan stuff on the stuff I read, I would appreciate it. But it wouldn't make it a pagan crusade.
