LTTE: Right Wing talking point leave out biggest pork of all: WAR
I wrote this in response to a Rich Lowry column in the Portland Oregonian, but it would work as well for any other pundit tearing talking points from Karl Rove off their fax. Feel free to modify or use unmodified in response to other occurences of the same crap elsewhere.

Rich Lowry's parroting of the right wing talking point on $20 billion in pork in the Iraq emergency appropriation had the usual omission: the hundreds of billions on privatized food service contractors who showed up late to the war because they didn't want to get shot at, the rebuilding contractors who rebuild nothing or do it so poorly the buildings are unusable, and the Blackwater mercenary army contractors, whose soldiers are paid ten times as much real ones, who videotapes themselves shooting at random Iraqis for fun, and are accountable to no one.

The greatest pork of all is that all of this spending is being done to put a gun in the face of the Iraqis so they will give their tens of trillions of dollars worth of oil to American oil companies on terms those companies dictate.

Pork is bad, but at least the Democrat are trying to end the war that leads to the kind that come with a price tag in dead bodies as well as dollars.

Yurbud

1. So true K&R
The war money is making some people rich. Didn't I read that Halliburton's stock has more than tripled since the fiasco began?

2. Thats not true.
With pork you actually get something for the money spent. I've not seen anything accomplished with the war.

5. It might also be helpful to go back and look at the previous ...
Republican approved war funding bills and compare the amount of pork in them as well.

8. $20 billion?
Doesn't Chimp spend that in Iraq in a couple of months?

I guess the Repugs forgot about the $280 billion for a pork-filled highway bill and bridge to nowhere.
