I saw a post earlier today (can't find it now) that showed salaries for CEOs.

Can we get together and post every filthy thing we can dig up on "health" insurance companies?

Let me start with a link to the clip from SiCKO describing how Nixon manipulated the system to funnel cash to his buddies in the HMO industry:

Oh, and here's a picture of good old Saint Ronnie to get you sufficiently pissed off inspired.

Let's see if we can show the dirty side of the anti-small business health system.

1. In 08 the health insurance industry...
Took in

Revenue $276,0020,300,000
Gross Profit $ 96,130,980,000

Net Income was $ 8,636,705,000

Out of all that money $ 96.6 Billion went to Selling and Administrative salaries.

My question is this.

Fundamentally the single payer option is a not for profit option so if the government wont start and fund such an organization then why don't "we the people" form such an organization ?

I would think that such an organization could be run for about half the costs in Administrative costs and there would be no need for selling something that provides full coverage for half the costs the administrative system could be distributed nationally and in order to provide assurances that fraud would not occur in the system a review panel made up of local stake holders could be set up and an annual audits would filter out any abuse of the system.

2. On John Stewart tonight, w Elizabeth Edwards...
Thought I heard something about 1 of every 700 dollars in healthcare in America going to one CEO.

United Health, IIRC.

Sorry no links, just from my memory.

Shocking if true, and probably true.
