Watching the President speak weekly
is like being in church for me. Although we may not agree on everything or his timetable, his words and actions inspire me to not give up. We continue to hope for a new job, hope for our home to sell, hope for health care coverage which is about to run out, hope for the soldiers to come home to their families and hope for equal civil rights for ALL. I don't even have to hear the words coming from his mouth, just see his optimistic face and it helps me to not despair and not want to quit. That may sound a bit idealistic but him being on tv weekly is what is keeping me going when it is so tempting to give up and be angry all the time.

2. Hey, I got it. Church is a place to receive hope, inspiration, and the warm fulfillment
of sharing a common purpose with good people.

Granted, many churches aren't actually like that, but it's what church means to me. It's so good to have a President who engenders those feelings, instead of the contempt and loathing his predecessor caused.

5. Exactly!
Although it's been a long time since having gone to church, that's what it is to me.

It's my weekly pep talk to keep the faith, fight the fight and continue to do good to others.

4. I hear you. Every time he gives a barnburner speech like this,
I realize how lucky we are that his head is in the right place, warts and all.
