Media spin in action - from CNN: headline- Favorable Opinions of Cheney Rises
then underneath it this headline - "Obama tries to get back on offense".

Behind these two headlines - text from the Cheney article - "But the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, released Thursday morning, indicates that a majority of Americans still have an unfavorable opinion of Cheney."

More - "Is Cheney's uptick due to his visibility as one of the most outspoken critics of the Obama administration? Almost certainly not," says Keating Holland, CNN polling director."

And on the Obama headline - this is as if you are holding the arms of someone while they are being punched, then ask why the person is not fighting back.

The media chooses its headlines - they could have just as easily said "Cheney continues to be unpopular" for their headline.

If the media were treating Obama as if he was the president who WON (which he is), and Cheney as a VP who is no longer in office - in other words, if the media would do its job - Obama would not have to be trying to move forward with his arms being held back.

Where is the outrage on this sort of thing?

2. Cheney is my enemy
Edited on Fri May-22-09 09:51 AM by Winterblues
He is a treasonous bastard that has done everything within his Power to undermine the USA, from outing a Covert CIA Agent to putting "War Profiteering" ahead of all American interests..He is my enemy and I wish him to pay for it. It is true however that he and his ilk have numerous accomplices in the MSM.

4. Until Elected Democrats learn what the GOP knows and uses to
their advantage, we will continue in this venue of FRUSTRATION.

The GOP learned from John Kennedy--Television can make or break
a Party or an elected official. MOST Americans get their news
from Television. Therefore, use Television to your advantage
as often as you can. Whether we like or it not, Cheney is moving
up in the polls. It has been reported on all channels. He was
moving up before the "dueling speeches".

Cheney has been on TV as often as he could get there, and on Radio
more often. By simply being on TV and repeating his story line
fearmongering and all, he has begun to bring people to his side.
He did not let the Media poking fun and making jokes deter him.
He was a man with a mission and he intended to succeed. I have
a theory any message can be sold with a determined messenger.
Here we have really an upopular messenger selling his message.

The Media cannot ignore him since he is changing some people's
minds.

The mistake Democrats make is not taking the Republicans seriously
until the Republicans already have the upper hand.

Where were Democrats who should have been out there making the
opposing case???? Torture does not make us safer. Only Obama
in his speech yesterday has made the case. This is after Cheney
has started bringing his numbers up. Leaving everything up to
Obama just may give the Republicans the opportunity for a comeback
they are working like H to get.

5. Good--let the republicans run Cheney in 2012 or let him become the face of their party.

That would surely be a death-blow for them.
