The path to overturning Prop 8 now lies with the SCOTUS or California legislature.

1. Uh, I don't think so.
The problem with Prop 8 and other initiatives from the right wing nuts is that the amend the Constitution to LIMIT rights. That's inherently wrong.

6. They can but it takes an overwhelming majority.
Can't remember what it is - 2/3 maybe -- but I have some recollection that they can.

5. A proposition is the only way to overturn it.
The legislature is governed by the constitution; and the SCOTUS would have no jurisdiction.

8. Dont need one...
someone needs to file a lawsuit against the state for violation of equal protection. Why do 18,000 gays have full equal rights under the state law, and the rest do not? Do it legally, the door has been left open...we already know this court will rule in favor...just need a good law suit.

9. If it works we can use the same logic to get around the California AWB
Newcomers do not have the same rights to purchase AR-15s as those of us already in California did.

There are days...

And no pal this will be taught with fire, but them minorities have to be educated that what they are doing to the gay is exactly what was done to THEM.
