Obama’s position on decriminalization unclear

The Democratic Party Committee Abroad, otherwise known as Democrats Abroad, passed a resolution on April 25 recommending the legalization of marijuana in all 50 states.

The news appears to have gone completely unnoticed by all mainstream outlets.

The Democrats Abroad are considered a state party by the Democratic National Committee, which affords them eight elected, voting members. They help U.S. citizens who are traveling and living outside the United States cast ballots in national elections.

2. Well there's that, but also
Legalization / decriminalization will *not* happen under a Democratic administration. Can you imagine the R campaign ads next election cycle!? "Candidate X voted to empty our prisons into YOUR back yard!"

Just as "it took Nixon to go to China," it'll take a Republican (God help us) to end the WOSD.

3. tax incentive for the govt
and a new industry for the private sector. It would create jobs, revenue and would be taxed.

There are a lot of pot smokers in America, oh, and don't forget all the tourists from around the World, wanting that freedom to openly smoke da ganja. Just look at Amsterdam.

4. Yup....
it certainly has it's upsides, which is exactly why it won't be legalized. God forbid we try something sensible in the US.
