please send this wounded soldier a card? |
|
came from friend in state attorney's office.. heartbreaking:
IMPORTANT SEND cards to wounded soldier: Sgt. David Thornhill/ Fort Sam Houston-Fisher House, 3623 George C. Beach Rd, Fort Sam Houston, TX. 78234 Parents are worried about his emotional status and he doesn't get many visitors. He lost both legs & was burned over 1/2 his body serving in Iraq. His birthday is next week and his family has reached out to the military community looking for support....Pass this on!

I sent one earlier when this was first brought to my attention by a DUer. DU can sometimes appear to be reflexively anti-military, but this kid deserves any support we can offer him.

I'm sure they is a data bank out there somewhere with the addresses of even more vets that could use some kindly community attention. For the cost of a stamp and the few minutes it takes to write a on a card, you could make a huge difference in someone's life.

11. Do you have any details? |
|
Can he get cookies? Can he see? Does he have any wishes as far as books, magazines, DVDs, games, puzzle books, etc? I'd like to send more than a card, but don't want to make a faux pas if he has dietary restrictions or any other issues.
