If nothing else, George W Bush is an opportunist...
If the sun comes up today, he will say, "I told you so". Unfortunately, President Obama is unwittingly assisting him in his legacy rehabilitation.

A few days ago, Bush - sensing that the worst of the banking crisis was over - made the comment that his decision to release the TARP money was the reason we had survived the chaos of an economic crash. Once again, he made the decision to save the American people.

And his policies in Iraq and Afghanistan are being validated by the new President. He told us that the "surge" would work but, by golly, we didn't believe him. Now the new President is finding out that it is not so easy to get out of Iraq.

And the only wildcard left in preserving and promoting the legacy of George W Bush is the secrecy of his and Cheney's torture program. So far, President Obama has refused to release the photos that could shine the light of truth on George W Bush and his Administration, much to the delight of George Dubya. If he can manage to wrap the torture issue up in secrecy and politics, then his legacy will be preserved. And we will be forced to accept his infamy on his terms.
