Syria, Israel may resume peace talks

WASHINGTON -- Over White House protests, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with Syrian President Bashar Assad today in Damascus and said he and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert were both willing to resume peace talks.

Pelosi, who had visited Israel before moving on to Syria, said Olmert had authorized her to tell Assad that "he was ready to engage in peace talks," Pelosi told reporters after meeting with the Syrian president.

She said she was pleased with Assad's response. "He was ready to engage in peace talks as well," she said.

Why its a conservative's worse nightmare. No immediate excuse for pro lifers to support the continued slaughter of non white, non christians in the world. Maybe we can attack Somalia.
