GM Bankruptcy brings back memories |
|
I remember back in 2000 when Gore was running for President; his criticism of auto engines as they were then brought forth a torrent of protesters carrying sings marching around the VP's house.
They were auto workers who thought that Gore's winning would be the end of their jobs because he would do away with the auto combustible engine. I wish I could remember why that all was going on at that time, but I think maybe it had to do with Gore's wanting to reduce gas tank emissions.
I wonder if Gore had won and gas mileage improvements had been made back starting in 2000, would all this be going down today?
My opinion or memory should be discounted, because I wasn't really aware of what was going on, or keeping track, I just remember the protesters.

1. Gore was just saying that the internal combustion engine was an anachronism |
|
And that it deserved to be phased out and replaced by NEW, CLEANER and MORE EFFICIENT technologies.
He was NOT advocating "banning" them by any stretch of the imagination.

3. If you recall, they twisted EVERYTHING back in 2000 |
|
And yes, the petroleum mafia probably had a part in it, too.
