Bill O'Reilly has a long and rich history of focusing on a certain person or group (even entire countries) with whom he disagrees, and then taking credit when those people change their ways and fall in line with whatever his view is on the given issue.

Examples:

He claims credit for getting Spain to back off of torture investigations: http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/17/oreilly-spanish-torture/

He claims credit for bringing down the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: http://blatherwatch.blogs.com/talk_radio/2009/01/oreilly-takes-credit-for-bringing-down-the-seattle-postintelligencer-.html

He claims credit for GE's stock dropping: http://www.aim.org/don-irvine-blog/oreilly-takes-credit-for-ge-stock-drop/

He claims credit for falling gas prices: http://www.newshounds.us/2005/11/30/bill_oreilly_takes_credit_for_lower_gas_prices.php

So, given this history and (for the sake of this exercise) taking his logic seriously, why shouldn't he now claim some credit for at least contributing to a climate that incites domestic terrorists? Is his influence that conveniently selective?

1. A few have mentioned this....
and I personally think it is a very honest, potentially effective approach to combat O'Reilly.

His arrogance is truly astounding.

2. Didn't mean to double-up on others saying the same thing.
I did post an email that I sent to him that's similar in nature. Sorry if I'm repeating.

4. Oh, no, I didn't mean that.....
sorry. :)

With this kind of subject, there are going to be many threads, some with similar content. No worries. :)

I don't think I saw the nice, neat links you provided though. So you have a great OP here, dem629!

3. Appeal to his ego
"Bill you know you're an influential guy. Your words can make the French economy crash, can make the Spanish attorney general drop his investigation of US torture practices. and can cause the ratings of MSNBC and the stock prices of its parent company to fall. When you speak, people take action. You're a powerful man, Bill. And now, by the overwhelming force of your powerful words, you have influenced a sincere, religious man to take action to save the lives of thousands of innocent babies. The guy would never have the courage to do it without your support Bill. We're proud of you Bill. Stand up and take credit for the things you have accomplished."

After reading a few hundred emails like this, his head will be so puffed up he'll have to strut out there and claim responsibility for the killing in order to appease his fragile ego.

8. That's a good idea. How can we get something started for people to mass-email the show?
Even if just copying/pasting a "form" email.

I would like to overwhelm the producers (or whoever reads the emails) so it can't be ignored.

5. Also, does anyone know if there are videos or sites which dispute....
the so-called facts he cites on his show?

Any clips of blatant lies or, at the very least, gross misinformation he passes off as truth?
