Wisconsin Republican kicked out of county GOP for criticizing Rush Limbaugh

The Republican Party of Marathon County has stripped its spokesman of his title less than three months after he wrote a column critical of conservative talk radio star Rush Limbaugh.

Kevin Stevenson said he believes his March guest column in the Wausau Daily Herald criticizing Limbaugh turned local party members against him.

"They felt I was too moderate in what I was speaking and printing," he said.

Stevenson, who characterizes himself as a "John McCain-type of Republican," said the conflict was a microcosm of a national debate about what political message to put forward. A debate at a local Republican meeting on Thursday "got hostile and it got personal," he said.

3. Wonder how he'll do next vote
An MP in my province got booted out of the Conservative Party a while back because he sided with the province in a provincial-federal dispute; he was electorally invincible afterwards, hitting seventy or eighty percent of the vote in four or five-way contests.

4. They are all cowards.
It's piteous how they cringe in fear of retribution from The Bloated One.

They can brook no dissent from Talking Point Central.

How sad and little they are.

are wonderful people too. David Obey is Wausau's Congressman and he's very progressive. You would feel at home in that neck of the woods. :hi:

6. Whatever you do Republicans...don't criticize the radio guy who doesn't debate anyone.
Edited on Tue Jun-02-09 03:45 PM by YOY
I fuck with the office FReeps head by pointing out that he doesn't debate.

He responds with "He doesn't have to."

Last time he did everyone in a 2 cube radius piped up and said something along the lines of "Yes, he does."

10. limbaugh's
job (the only thing he has ever "succeeded" at was secured only after reagan did away with the fairness doctrine. No fairness = right wing radio. Oh and the millions of independent thinkers who agree with everything he says.

7. Why do they keep calling John McCain a moderate?
He chose Sarah Nutbag Palin as his running mate. That eliminated his moderate status.

11. Well I have at least 3 solidly Republican friends who say they're tired of all the BS
One absolutely WORSHIPS Reagan (gag me) But they've all said there is no one in the GOP they have even an ounce of respect for at this point, and Limbaugh is nothing but a ratings whore and an idiot to boot. TRUE story, I got signed statements and everything (tequila is a miracle elixir)

13. Note the article mentions Keven Hermening...
Useless trivia fact of the day - he was one of the 52 hostages in the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1980. He campaigned for several political offices on that fact alone (and lost, thank god). He always failed to mention in his campaigns that he ended up a hostage because he was one of the military guards at the embassy. He kept holding up the biggest failure of his career as proof we should put him in office.

A Bush-style, lock-step Repig through and through.

18. Kevin met his match
during a protest for peace when the war just started. He went up to an elderly man and got in his face about how he was a Marine and was a hostage in Iran. The man replied, "I was a Marine and I and my fellow Marines would have died before we would have let any one take our post from us." Kevin left.
