Pelosi's Globetrotting Around The Middle East (GLOBAL REASSURANCE??) |
|
Is she reassuring them that Chimpy is no longer going to be relevant and that he is being effectively marginalized and that they can deal w/ her directly now? I just have a feeling there's alot more going on here than meets the eye. Like she's telling them and giving them assurances like "Don't worry, I assure you, we absolutely will not let him do anything (else) completely insane (like attack/nuke Iran) and will do whatever it takes to stop him if he tries."
She's essentially symbolically castrating him by doing this. *snicker*

4. Had a similar thought this am |
|
When I woke up this am to the reports of her visit to Syria, I wondered of the plan wasn't to create a parrallel Foreign Policy, one with much less belicosity and more diplomacy. This would neutralize almost any insane thing coming out of the WH for the next two years.
If so, Syria, et. al would be a good place to start.
Go Speaker Pelosi! :applause:

of mine in DC who has been doing the whole DC cocktail party circuit since Reagan and always has the best, most accurate gossip and she says there's something under the radar that's big coming down the pike. I asked if that's why Pelosi was in the Middle East and she responded (and I kid you not) "well, it'll be good for them to meet who they'll be dealing with, don't you think?"! If the military is fed up with Bush and Cheney, the repug party itself is trying to distance themselves and the terrible twosome are still refusing to come out of their delusion and face reality -- not to mention the never-ending stream of scandal and abuse of civil rights brought to light --, perhaps Impeachment ISN'T off the table.
that's what happens when you play tiddley-winks with someone who's playing Grand Master chess. :-)

13. if these gin swilling repugs |

are openly talking about "big" coming down the pike, then you know it's a'comin' and it's big. and these are the wives of, girlfriends of, mistresses of (boyfriends of) Senators, Congresspeople, bank presidents, CEOs of companies, etc. ... those who would have their finger on the pulse of gov (and all the backstage wheeling and dealing) and know which way to move to protect their asses and their assets. and they ain't moving toward bush, that's fer darn sure.
even wal-mart is cozying up to the dems now! I think Pelosi, Reid, et al. have ace after ace after ace up their sleeve and will be dealing to either a)keep bush in line and not let him start any more wars or b)impeach and restore some sanity to our government.
or at least that was her take on it. verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting.

7. It will be hell for any president to pick up where Bush left off. |

Pelosi is just trying to make it a little easier for everyone. I also agree that she is letting other countries know that Bush now has limited authority. I hope that there will be more trips by other Democrats.

10. Sure seems to be some good "strategizing" going on with our Dems |
|
and it's much appreciated after all our years in the wilderness.
The release of the hostages in Iran might delay the Chimperor's ambitions there...since it's hard to bomb a country that said it gave "Blair and Easter Present" with the release.
Even a dictator would know it's not a good time to Bomb the Easter Bunny.

11. I think somethin's up as well! |

It seems like a positive step, and I always contended that Impeachment wasn't really off the table. I think they wanted to get a few things in place first, or maybe they were waiting for the perfect scandal of the week to get em' with. Pelosi is smart and the Syrians probably trust her a million times more than Bush and Condi.
