So now we own GM too. Tell me, if this is the case, do we get
dividends? Can we sell our shares? Do we vote on affairs of GM plus the other companies that we now own?

It rings shallow every time I hear someone in Washington say that "the American People are the majority owners of XYZ company.

Don't know about you but I received nothing in the mail about it.

I'm ever tired of hearing anyone use those words. Baloney. Just another way to pour money down another sink-hole.

Case in point. B of A. Huge bailout and they still need zillions more. Guess what Uncle Sam. The rest of us need it too.

Of all the zillions given to bail out banks and corporations, I wonder how much that is per person. I bet the 300 million of us would be living high of the hog right now if the money went to us individually.

Yea, I know. I'm naive, old and just don't get it.

7. No we don't own anything, we *owe* their debt and will be
slaving the rest of our lives to pay off their mistakes. Seems fair to me <sarcasm>

3. The first bank bailout alone was about $40,000 per taxpayer.
Add in all the other slush funds Obama has been handing out, and we are talking easily $100,000 per taxpayer.

5. I at least want a new car.

Like somebody I knew a few years ago that went through $60000 in 5 weeks. There was no drugs or alcohol involved and she had nothing to show for it afterwards.
My comment was that if I blew that much money that fast I would at least have a deviated septum to show for it.

8. I know! I got a pair of Escalades
Just walked in, showed my 1090EZ, and told em I was taking the two Escalades cuz I'm one of the owners! While I was there, I fired the general manager cuz he had Fox News on the TV in the lobby. I showed that asshole! I replaced him with the guy sweeping the floors and gave him a $100K salary increase (Hope y'all didn't mind). Man, this ownership stuff is easy, isn't it?

/sarcasm
