Fox: Animal rights terrorism on the rise (Fox seeks to change the narrative on abortion killing)
Check out this transparent attempt by Fox to pretend that left-wing terrorism is as much of a threat to this nation as the right-wing terrorists who bomb Federal buildings and kill abortion doctors.

Citing statistics from a company that does research on animals (Foundation for Biomedical Research), Fox claims that "39 criminal actions undertaken in the name of animal rights."

What a lame attempt to change the narrative.

1. Is it a lie or true - clearly trying to change the topic but is the data true?

5. Or...is it true that 39 is higher than usual?
Is it true that these attacks have increased? We only get numbers (unconfirmed) from a company with a conflict of interest.

3. 39 criminal actions, most of them nuisance crimes
There have been some atrocious crimes committed by animal rights people, but I think than number is right around TWO, both more than 10 years ago IIRC.

And I used to work for a scientist who was targeted, so I have fairly strong "feelings" about such crimes. But, face it, it's a small movement with a limited number of fanatics. PETA seems to draw most of them off, and they prefer to work with the Art Department, not Munitions, anyway.

Fox is stretching -- again. There are millions of anti-abortion people and most of them are kept in a low-grade frenzy over "the death of the innocents". I'm surprised that there have been as FEW serious crimes and murders as there have been.

--d!

4. Fox aside, never has an action claimed by the ALF ever hurt a human being. Ever.
Terrorism indeed. I want to know why there's an Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act but no Women's Rights Enterprise Terrorism Act. Can someone explain that to me?

I do wonder where they got the number 39 from.

It's telling that Fox thinks that animal rights "terrorism" is equally or more important that murdering a doctor in the name of zealotry.

7. Because Animal Enterprise is more important than Human Enterprise ( family)
in this mixed-up US legal system that puts corporate interests ahead of human?

Sort of the demented extension of capital punishment for poaching on royal grounds, I guess.

8. Yup. All about the Benjamins.
The ALF costs businesses money. Anti-choice terrorists only cost lives. Values being what they are, this is what we have.

6. Oh- so were *are* calling domestic crime terrorism. I see.
Oh- but not clinic bombings, or doctor murders, or murder sprees in liberal churches by right-wing fanatics. Those are still just crimes. But stealing animals is terrorism. Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense, mm-hmm.
