Randi Rhodes said there was a 2.0 earthquake 87 miles east of LA, a a 1.5 in Palm Springs. |
|
Anyone feel it?
I'm in LA. I didn't feel a thing.

10. I think it had to do with her technical issues. |
|
She lost contact with someone on the phone.

7. A 2.0 is barely noticible... |
|
...even if you're standing right on top of the fault.
I read an article where someone once wrote something like "if you want to claim clairvoyance, predict that there will be a 2.0 earthquake in Southern California in the next three weeks -- it will happen practically every time."

8. The reason Randi mentioned it is because the earthquake somehow interrupted her phones. |
|
I grew up in San Francisco and have lived in LA for 15 years, so I know earthquakes. I was just wondering if anyone felt it. I am surprised that something like that could interrupt her phone system.
That's all.

15. I doubt that's the reason her phone was interrupted |
|
that would be real odd. Maybe thunderstorms in the area?

19. I thought a 2.0 was pretty light to cause such a problem, but then I thought maybe she was wrong on |
|
the actual intensity of the quake. Maybe it was more than 2.0? She said she could see, via webcam, the guy manning the phone system actually shake around. I thought that seemed odd. But since I'm 87 miles away, what do I know?

It's so good to have Randi back again! I didn't understand her comments about Al Franken though.

24. Well, to be fair, she didn't do a whole segment on it. She mentioned it because of the phones. |
|
I've lived in CA all my life and I've never heard of a 2.0 causing this much damage. I don't think my OP was the best written ever, as you can see from all the responses!
