The "concerned" people really crack me up. |
|
Now that Obama's raking in the campaign money, suddenly they're upset about how much money he's bringing in.
They're complaining about how that money's not going towards Katrina victims. Or about how it's going to go towards Disney and GE.
It's like they're complaining about John Edwards' house all over again.

2. Do we want a Dem in the White house? |
|
The candidate with the most money has an advantage. Should the money go to Katrina victims and whatnot? Sure, in a perfect world.
But that's not how it works. Get Obama(or any Dem)elected, and I'm sure more money will go to those who deserve it, not big corporations.

11. I'd love to see major reform in public financing across the board |
|
But even holding that opinion I'm pretty darn happy that Obama's managed to kick butt the way he has.
At this moment, until and if the rules are changed, this is the way the game is played. I fully understand that, even if I don't like it, and I'm glad to see the Democrats bringing in the major money for a change.

hard to reconcile Edwards' personal life with his populist rhetoric
But I still like Edwards better than either Clinton or Obama

17. Campaign finance is a vicious spiral |
|
that long ago spun out of control and ripped "democracy" right out of the process
No matter where the money came from (in this case mostly from "the rich"), it's too much money and it's not democracy.

15. reckon they'd prefer a more salt of the earth, working class type? |
|
Maybe a hardworking businessman who runs a ranch? Someone not corrupted by Washington and big money and special interests? Someone who is all about the message, not about fundraising?
