Did Joe Scarborough just make sense? |
|
Edited on Fri Jun-05-09 08:12 AM by Blue_Roses
He was debating Pat Buchanan :eyes: and Pat asked him about gay marriage and he basically said government should stay out of that and ob/gyn's decisions:wtf: Pat looked dumbfounded and I nearly choked on my cereal. Sure Joe is still the arrogant, male-chauvinist that he always has been, but I saw something different in his "approach" to social issues. And while he had some concerns about Sotomayer, he said the President should be able to appoint who he wants.
I know, I know, this is Joe we're talking about and in five minutes I'll be cussing him again.
EDITED TO ADD: okay, I see...he's trying to sell his new book. I was just about to look outside and see if pigs were flying.
I haven't had that first cup of coffee yet.

2. Stay out of OB/GYN decisions? Then why didn't he take his |
|
own advice? He's still a prick, just one who changes his mind with the wind. I had to turn him off due to all the heralding of his book. I'll not be buying it. It seemed like Pat was trying to take Joe to task for not allowing as Pat says "the majority of America" to hate gay people as they always have. His argument seemed to be "Don't force your acceptance on me."

7. Joe's trying to tell the GOP how to win |
|
I don't think it has much to do with what he really believes. Then again maybe NYC is rubbing off on him a little.

10. Goldwater(father of Conservatism): Keep the Government out of |
|
my wallet and out of my bedroom.
Joe appears to be going back to original concepts in Conservatism.
I have heard others say similar things either. Questioning their own practices. If we do not want and fight Government intereference in this area, then why on earth are we wanting the Government interfering in such personal issues.
It will be interesting to see how Cultural Conservatives and RR react.
