Decades of threats have taught Colorado clinic founder Warren Hern to live and work under tight security. But they didn't prepare him for the slaying of his friend and fellow doctor George Tiller.

Reporting from Boulder, Colo. -- At the Boulder Abortion Clinic, Dr. Warren Hern leaves no window uncovered.

Full-length blinds shroud the bulletproof entryway; in his office, vinyl shades block a small window.

This is one of the facts of Hern's life -- no windows, ever. That was how Dr. Barnett Slepian's killer shot him in upstate New York, through a kitchen window. Slepian, like Hern, performed abortions.

"I can't sit in front of an open window. The shades have to be drawn," Hern said.

It seems obvious that the anti-choicers have a plan to end abortion: They are making it too dangerous and threatening for any doctor to choose to give health care for women.

Fuck these RW assholes. They are what needs hard, quick and total regulation. I saw one of these POS last night when I was on my way out for dinner. Driving a POS pick up truck with three bumper stickers:'

He and I got caught by the same red light and I was next to the POS truck on the driver's side. I turned and looked at him. He had that same wall-eyed fish look that Roeder has ~~ same coloring, too.
