Baptist Minister Prays For Death of President Obama
Baptist Minister Prays For Death of President Obama
Published 1, June 5, 2009

Drake reportedly said on June 2 on “The Alan Colmes Show” that, unless Obama repents, he is praying for God to kill him — referencing the killing of Dr. George Tiller as an example of such divine retribution. Drake has his own program, “The Wiley Drake Show” on Crusade Radio, where he has been holding forth on Tiller’s murder. With Colmes, Drake said “I’ve been a Baptist pastor for a long time, been in the pro-life fight, been face-to-face with Tiller, told him about Jesus, and I’ve seen many, many others tell him about Jesus over and over and over again. And I’ve seen horrific things that go on in those death abortuaries — and that’s what they are — and so my initial response to those people, they said, ‘Well what was your response,’ and I said, ‘Well, in all honesty I have to just respond directly and say I am glad that he’s dead.’”

39. Yeah, but Raindog says he's the "affiliated" kind--the former head of the outfit, in fact.
Which really puts him in "No excuses" land. He's had the lousy Bible College education. He's just a nasty hater, is all.

30. No. He's the former HEAD of the southern baptist convention
he is the southern baptist convention - he is their repulsive and true shriveled heart.

I detest them.

38. I guess we'll have to move them from cranky, annoying and prejudiced
to the "Batshit Crazy Hateful" category, then. That's OTT even for them, I think. I wonder if all their churchfolk agree with that assclown?

Boy, oh boy! See, ya learn something every day here at DU!!!

2. How do they get away with it?
Couple years ago, you could get arrested for merely expressing your disagreement with the administration's policies.

Now, it seems to be perfectly acceptable to deliver death threats on the public airwaves. The left is held to somewhat different standard.

and throws gasoline and a match to Bush you will know that God did speak through the burning Bush."

The rightwing has lost it's mind and whatever religion it ever professed to have. They must never get control of this country again.

18. 46% of the voting population voted for McCain/Palin.
I believe that if the economy hadn't tanked when it did, we could easily have had a McCain/Palin administration. Carville is going eat his words about forty years of dem rule. The right wing is going to be so pumped up on hate by 2012 I think what we saw in the '08 campaign will be mild by comparison. And if the economy isn't humming smoothly by then, well, let's just say that I don't have much confidence in America's memory. It will all be Obama's fault by then. The economy, the war, all of it. And the media will make sure every American hears that message 24x7.

2012 is going to be a fight.

7. I went to listen to some streaming audio at www.crusaderadio.com
to see if I could hear some of the hateful spewing I'm sure is there all the time, but instead heard some gospel music with a tasty jazz-tinged electric guitar and harmonica accompaniment.

That was a pleasant surprise.

As far as what is quoted above...have these folks even READ the New Testament? Did they read the stuff in red?

23. "have these folks even READ the New Testament?"
Not much of it.

Really.

I'm pretty sure that they only read the verses that they're directed to read.

And most of those are in Leviticus.

Dividing the chapters into verses might have been the single worst thing about the Bible.

I am allowed to and my reasons are valid.

I seriously believe it is a cancer that eats away all rationality.

The religious right wing nutters should never, ever be allowed to be in control of this country again.

And people wonder why Christianity gets a bum rap.

If the good Christians would take fuckers like this to task and shout him down, they might be viewed in a more positive light.

24. The Jesus from the New Testament will have Tiller sitting
next to him - as for Drake, he violates the 1st and the 3rd commandments every time he opens his mouth and spews this hate.

If any soul needs prayers, it is Drake's, may God forgive him for perverting his message and for using it to promote hate and not love and forgiveness.

...there is not reason whatsoever that this sort of thing should go unchallenged. This man should face consequences for threats to the President of the United States, just as any of us would. He said it publicly on national TV for cryin' out loud.

you have to listen to him. He's the best left wing smacker downer on the airwaves!!

I cry from laughing at how he handles these half-witted whack jobs who call his show. And he gets the worst freaks I've heard yet.

He's even better than Mike Malloy at letting these morons have it. And that's saying something. :-)

Here's in SF, Green 960 has him on at midnight-3a.m. You can download podcasts too.
