Hannity Edits Clip To Suggest Obama Honored 9/11 Sympathizers

Conservative pundits have launched into President Barack Obama's speech in Cairo, calling it "sympathetic" to 9/11 and critical of the U.S. military. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe joined in, calling Obama's speech "un-American" and said he couldn't tell "whose side he's on."

On his Fox News show, Sean Hannity edited a clip of the speech to make it sound as if Obama "decided to give 9-11 sympathizers a voice on the world stage." Media Matters explains: "In fact, the context of Obama's words makes clear that Obama was condemning those who would 'justify the events of 9-11.'"

5. Clip editing is far worse than just taking a sentence out of context...
And taking things out of context can, perhaps, be deemed as much accidental as malevolent, but editing words and doing so in a serious attempt to "inform" the audience... uh-uh. No way. Fire the jerk.

9. it's one thing to take something the person says and take it out of context.
that happens all the time. it isn't right, but I don't think you could fire someone for it. But to edit one's words to make it sound like they said something else is completely different. it is purposefully altering the content to change it to something else. It's like when who was it?? was it katie couric and john mccain?? and they took the answer from one question and edited it to be to a different one? that kind of thing. it is no accident. it is on purpose. and should be grounds for fines, and firing.

3. You need new 'hate speech laws' to get this trash taken off the air.
Remember, what Fox and their friends on the radio are doing now to Obama, is exactly what commercial tv did to Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, and that led to a coup d'etat. Seeing how those pundits are calling for 'revolution' all the time, I'd say it's in everyone's interest to take the channel of the air.

8. Our laws seem to require a call to immediate action.
We're in some kind of limbo because, although these people aren't committing a crime per se, they are influencing unstable people to take action.

4. They have nothing else to do.
There is no truth for them to tell, and no lie from BushCo they will not deny or defend.

They have nothing left. This is a sad effort.

10. Sounds like a good project - a little creative editing of some of Insannity's BS moments!
Not my thing technologically speaking, though.
