Henry Rollins show update

It was great! He went for a little over 2 hours, non-stop, without even a sip of water! He talked mostly of his travels and how he's now a "person of interest" to Homeland Security...threw in a little political talk...brought up Dr. Tiller...how he'll eat bugs and "whatever else they pick up off the ground" just to gross out little kids...and shared intimate details of his prostate exams (his doctor has a good sense of humor)!

I could've sat there and listened to him for two more hours and I KNOW he could've talked for another two hours, and then some! Amazing energy, quick mind, and even quicker mouth! Don't know how he does it! I imagine the inside of his head looks like 25 super bouncy balls, bouncing off the walls, going in every direction imaginable!

Oh, and he was very nice to NJ...except for the part about the captain announcing they'll be landing in Newark shortly and the passengers asking if he can "do another lap"!! LOL!!

You were all right, it was a great time!

I saw him in Berkeley doing spoken word over 10 years ago, and I am still warmed by the memories. :) He's one of the greats.

8. I don't have IFC

but I do have his shows on DVD, along with a couple of spoken word shows. I'd like to see HBO give him an hour show when Bill Maher is on hiatus. I like Maher, most of the time, but I think Henry Rollins is smarter and definitely quicker on the draw. I'd like to see him interview politicians, authors, scholars, etc. Actually, he'd be a good host for a travel show, maybe on the National Geographic channel. He's so smart and so insightful...he really deserves a bigger audience.

I'm sorry I forgot the camera! I remembered that I forgot it when I was sitting there, waiting for the show to start! Anyone who was snapping pictures during the performance was reprimanded by the ushers.

He's an extremely good looking man and I couldn't help staring at his chest and arms for most of the show! I was 9 rows from the stage!! I'm a dirty old woman...

The crowd was great, too. Very diverse. The girl next to me had green hair and I don't know how many piercings...two rows up was a guy in a suit...all different ages and walks of life were well represented.

I told him the show was great and asked how he went through the entire show with no water. His reply:

I like being onstage and often forget to drink the water I bring out with me. I am glad you dug the show. Thanks. Henry

How much is going through your head to make you forget to drink?? LOL!
