will have zero influence keeping Sotomayor off the Court, but I will withhold judgement on whether or not they are powerless until after the health care battle is fought. It will take every last ounce of political capital that President Obama has left over from Inauguration Day to get that passed, and I doubt that more than 20% of the folks here will like the result.

We control the White House, Senate, and House. If Minnesota ever gets around to certifying Franken, we'll have a filibuster-proof Senate. I'm sure that the rethugs will howl up a storm over health care; they'll use their hate-radio propaganda to its fullest, and put maximum pressure on "Blue Dog" Democrats to vote their way. But the fact is that if we can keep our party united, then there is absolutely no way that rethugs could stop us.
