4. He's Definitely Not a Progressive

Progressive doesn't get you very far in most of Virginia, so maybe he'll win. The Republican candidate running for Governor beat him in '06 by very little. I was told Deeds had very little money then. I think it is going to be very important to Obama that a Dem wins this election as a foreshadowing of '10. This is probably the Dem's first "test."

5. Absolutely! Creigh only lost to McDonnell by a couple of hundred votes in the last election.

Since then, during his term as Lt. Governor, McDonnell has revealed himself to be the hard right whack job that many of us knew him to be four years ago.
