In a battle of wits Scarborough is putting a slingshot up against an ICBM. Before this wraps up Joe is going to want to crawl under his desk and disappear. (Sadly, there's already a dead intern under there, so the Scar will have to find someplace else to hide.)

1. You definitely don't want to go up against a team of comedy/satire writers.
Lil' John will have the team writing early today.

3. Writers for the Daily Show....
... easiest job in the world! They don't have to write.... they just sit back and pick the low-hanging fruit that Faux and the Repubs leave them. I do feel sorry for the poor bastards that get stuck with watching Faux hour after miserable hour waiting for that fruit to ripen.

5. I wouldn't dismiss their talent by calling it an easy job.

8. .... Sigh ....
Not denigrating the writers, just pointing out that Faux is a "target-rich environment".

11. What did she whine?
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 07:13 PM by Cha
I heard something about it via Kathleen Parker..

<snips>>>>

"Excerpts:

"Kathleen Parker: I don't have a problem with raunchy humor, but time and place are everything. In a nightclub, fine. But Letterman is sort of an American institution. It just seems to me that when a woman is running for public office, we should avoid sexualizing her.

Okay, I censored myself before so I'll say it now. I also think it's out of line for a woman to sexualize her candidacy, which Palin did. Just ask Rich Lowry, who wrote that he had to sit up a little straighter when she winked during the vp debate. So, maybe when you play the flirt and invite males to see starbursts bouncing off the walls (Lowry again), then maybe you invite the sexual punchline. I'm wobbling here."

4. Jon should invite Joey on the show to talk about his book and then
slam the twit by asking legitimate questions. Get him flustered and sputtering, perhaps even get up and leave the set like he did with Rachel. I'd buy tickets for that one.

6. That's a good way to kill the comedy.
Looks like they're headed in that direction anyway by becoming crusaders rather than humorous entertainers.

10. Really? You don't find the recent shows funny?
I do. TDS has been focusing on the media with rapier wit. Did you see the segment on Fox and Friends and their outrage on the Eminem/Cohen stunt, followed by their own bizarro "game" with nearly naked women? Or the CNN segment about CNN's creepy desperation: tweet us! email us! call us! contact us! And didn't you think Stewart's comments regarding Morning Joe were deserved?

7. Joey has been setting himself up to be the
guru of the Rs for some time now. The serious voice of the Rs. He's starting to believe his own hype.
