1. Well, at least a visit by the FBI with a search warrant that means |
|
taking all of FR's servers in for forensic examination.
I wonder if Robinson has a doomsday plan for his servers. Wouldn't surprise me. They aren't on site where he lives, but a script could exist that would wipe the servers.
If things keep going as they are, we shall soon see...

2. The FBI could also get all the user IP addresses and from there start to track down names |
|
getting a pretty good terrorist watch list going.

5. I imagine they already have all that. |
|
There have been several instances of Freepers doing evil. Fake anthrax mailings, and the like. I'm sure the FBI has it all. I remember one time, when one of those things happened, FR went down for a couple of days. Just about enough time for the FBI to clone the server's drives.
Jim Robinson used to claim that he'd never reveal user information. I don't believe he makes that claim any longer. I'm pretty sure he's been co-opted, just like the NRA and other such organizations.
The lists are made.

And honestly, I would never suggest that of anyone but hell these are the cheerleaders for waterboarding terrorists in Gitmo.

It's too valuable a resource to the FBI for it to be closed down.
They can sit there and gather them up one by one. Like catching fish in a barrel!

35. you are absolutely correct - NO one has a right to commit terrorism |
|
i assure you may post is not meant to say violence/terrorism is in any way acceptable. the point i am trying to make is that when we make laws that overly restrict the freedoms of citizens for security, we are setting ourselves up for failure because those criminals/terrorists etc, who commit violence/terrorism have no care for the laws anyway.

If you disband FR all the nut jobs on there would just scatter to other hate websites or just start a new one. It's best to keep them isolated and in one spot, it makes it easier to keep track of those psychos.

32. In order to prosecute based on hate crimes |
|
You must provide evidence of prior hateful statements and showing online postings helps with that. And 2 out of how many registered members? Also the fact that it's been around has helped spot who the extremist are such as this example. http://archive.salon.com/politics/red/2001/02/09/blue/index.htmlx

But in interest of knowing who the extremist are let them out themselves. They'll be easier to spot, shutting down all sites will just make them harder to spot.

The first ammendment applies to everyone. It doesn't apply to some forms of speech, but that is vastly different than saying some groups are not covered.

If some stupid-ass DUer does something asinine Skinner and Co aren't responsible and the government would have no place shutting this site down. The Constitution affords Freeptards the right to be jackasses all day long.
If you don't like that, perhaps you actually belong there.

But much of the daily rhetoric there skirts a fine line between meaningless bluster and calls for violence against those they disagree with.
