10. A very large percentage of security guards are black. I guess there is also a high |
|
percentage of former military among them also.

I had not seen him yet and it made me really feel a deep pain.
I am so sorry that he was the target of a pathetic, evil mans rage.

23. Tyrone is an Irish county, but it's rarely used as a name in Ireland. |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 05:23 PM by Jackeens
It's likely that Irish emigrants in America with roots in Tyrone began using it as a name for their children, grandchildren, etc.
Tyrone is the anglicised version of the Gaelic name Tir Eoghain, meaning 'country of Eoghain' - he was the son of an ancient Irish king.
Lesson over :-)
Rest in peace Stephen Tyrone Johns.

8. Tragic. Truly tragic. Sometimes it's those who've been given very little who give back the most. |
|
Officer Johns did his duty ... and gave his life. I think it's significant (more than just symbolic) that William Cohen and his wife were there.
RIP, Officer Johns :patriot:

29. It's just so damned sad. This one really hits me hard for some reason. |
|
His family must bear an awful loss ... the loss of a man doing an honorable job at a place where such hatred is even more unspeakable. For some reason, this is even more obscenely tragic than Dr. Tiller, if such a thing can be imagined.
