Who is the real Sarah Palin?

On MSNBC this morning, Peggy Noonan called her a "yammerer" and suggested there was not a lot of substance there. Is that the real Sarah Palin?

The ex-beauty pageant contestant seems to have never recovered from finishing second to a black lady in a beauty contest and seems intent on showing the world that she was the "real" winner. She seems to love all the attention, whether it is good or bad, so long as she gets to show everyone that she still looks good and she should have won that beauty pageant many years ago.

She does not appear to be a politician of much substance. And her style is questionable, also. She does not mention any big ideas or offer any solutions for the many problems our country faces today. She is a divider, not a uniter. She believes in separating "them" from "us". There is always a double-standard where she is a "victim". The same rules don't apply to Sarah Palin that apply to everyone else.

For example, she says the media went after her family and they did not go after Obama's family. Of course, Obama's daughter did not have a baby by an ignorant redneck and go on TV and interview for People magazine, etc. Although Letterman's comments may have been over the line, even for a comedian, (unless the comedian is Rush Limbaugh of course) Sarah Palin saw it as an opportunity to get back on the TV and show everyone that she still looks good. It's almost like everyone in that part of America is starved to be on TV?

The real Sarah Palin hungers for power. She is ruthless toward anyone that might criticize her. The right-wing of the Republican loves her for that attitude. She is a real pit bull with lipstick. She was not kidding. But is there more? Not really.

7. When I was in college in the late 70s and early 80s a lot of women did that. It was one

of the few ways for women to do anything to earn more than minimum wage that was not waiting tables. Guys could always work night shifts - that paid more and did not hire women - or construction or cabs. For women it was waiting tables and chickenshit pageants.

College students are always broke and scholarships don't feed you.

Palin's persona reeks of the "beauty queen" stereotype. The remarks point out her active attempts to assume that style as her personal image.

I don't think there's anything to suggest that Palin is typical of pageant entrants, more like it presents a caricature of her posing as a stereotype.

She really is a not very bright person who spent a lot of time in the 80s watching primetime soaps such as Dynasty, Dallas, Knots Landing, etc...and her world view was shaped by them.

So's Tawwwd. Somehow along the trip, they popped out 4 kids who have raised themselves (or tried to, with varying results).

She "used" her looks at every step, and when she's the one making snide wisecracks, she's perfectly content with it, but she's mighty thin-skinned when she's the target.

Before McCain had to choose her, hardly anyone outside of Alaska even knew who she was, or cared about her or her "childrrrrrrren".. She pushed them in our faces, and MADE them be public. It's HER doing. When she lost, she had the perfect opportunity to go back to being Mom & governor, but she craves the spotlight, and will do anything to extend her 15-minutes ..

Not a wide audience, not nearly enough to succeed in national politics, but she plays the one she knows fairly well.

And yeah, she's as thin-skinned as the Bush family and reminds me of Dubya in the quality of her intellect--both the folksie-smart and reality-dumb sides.

I just can't get over the first and subsequent impression ... it hearkens back over 40 years to when I was in college and 'smokers' with the movie showing the "librarian seductress" ... a laughably common character in such movies. 25. If I didn't know better I'd say that neither Noonan or Kathleen Parker like Palin very much

While they have written a few positive things about her they are definitely on the "not even remotely close to prime-time material" side of the Palin argument.

I'm surprised that the FReeps haven't called for them to be tossed out of the country for failing to praise the great white dope of their party.
