Gay Rights - who needs them?
Gays don't contribute anything to society. They never did anything of merit in the world, and they're all perverts anyway.

Besides, they complain too much. They should just shut up and tow the line. If they really cared about our country, they would put their pet issues aside, and work to get Democrats elected, no matter what they believe. That "D" next to their name is more important than any of us will ever know.

:sarcasm:

And in all honesty, I have seen EVERY SINGLE bad argument I used above here on this board

Homophobia is alive and well on DU

2. I'm sure in the mid sixties, folks said the same thing about African Americans
Only they didn't use that word...they called them something else

But they were all Democrats so its all good :eyes:

13. Yes, homophobia is definitely alive and well.
:(

And as long as it is minimally veiled, it's usually allowed to stay. It's not considered homophobic and acted upon until it is blatant and offensive enough to meet some standard that offends straight people.

Until then, anyone who complain and responds against homophobia have a greater chance of getting deleted and tombstoned than the bigots. Fighting against homophobia is more likely to offend straight people than the homophobia.

How sad is that?

16. Gay rights are civil rights. We all need them.
Discrimination against one group opens the door for discrimination against another. It's in everyone's self-interest to work for equality for all.

24. The local homophobes have really come out of the closet
in the past couple of years.

They used to be fairly sly and subtle about it, but now they are out and proud.

25. I'm seeing it here in CA too
"Perversion is a choice" or "Silly F----t, Dicks are for Chicks"

I came really close to keying a car once - but I didn't. Glad I didn't. That's something they would do.

the ones in the real world are getting a lot bolder, too.

It fucking sucks to have to keep beating them back so everyone can have civil rights.
