HR 1207: Ron Paul's Federal Reserve Transparency Act
How does DU feel about this bill, especially now since it's moving forward in the House?

1. The name makes me suspicious. It reminds me of the Clean Skies Act. n/t

3. The bill has a fair amount of bipartisan support. It's not snake-oil. nm

At the link I posted, you'll see that Kucinich has signed on a co-sponsor... for whatever thatt's worth.

10. While I admire Kucinich, he cannot prevent people from abusing and twisting the law.
It won't be the first time.

It would be nice to have more transparency, but don't forget what can happen to it as it makes its way through Congress.

Who knows what will be attached to a seemingly innocuous and so-called "helpful" bill. Remember the credit card bill also allowed for guns to be carried in some national parks.

5. The Fed...
...as I understand it is the greatest thing since swiss cheese and works for all the poor people making sure we can get loans of the people's money at interest rates that bankers can live on first off.

We don't need to know what they do or how they do it. We don't need transparency!! We need to just let them do their thing and forget about them. Why they got us where we are today in this financial market and if anything we should just give them more of our money.

6. I think James von Brunn woulda liked it.
"Ron Paul" and "Federal Reserve" sets off so may red flags that there's no way I could support it.
