Haven't read the book yet, just browsed through it a bit last night using the index. Am very disappointed by what I didn't find.
It's supposed to be about "The Making of a President," and covers O'bama's candidacy and winning of the presidency. "Renegade" is the secret service's name for candidate O'bama..
It didn't cover anything President Obama may have said about his feelings concerning either the Michigan or Florida Primaries. Neither is mentioned. Nor are the elected officials of Michigan who planned the primary, or Florida's, or DNC Chairman Dean. There were so many inconsequential matters described that I gotta figure that Wolffe did not know how contentious these races were. Oh well.
VP Biden's slight gaffs were mentioned (a waste of print, imo).
Anyhow, I'll go through and read the book, but am, like I said, disappointed.
IT'S HOCKEY TIME!!!!!

1. I think the election story should be made into an opera. |

There are plenty of good songs that would fit in.

but, given that I'm a fan of the "The Making Of The Presidency" books, and "The Boys On The Bus," I was disappointed at the superficiality of it all. And I'm a Richard Wolffe fan. I really wanted to be excited about this book, but it looks to me like a real love letter without any kind of analytical depth.
Ah, well, I'll just keep reading Matt Taibbi's "Smells Like Dead Elephants," a great sketch of where we've recently been......
