If you don't think Sarah Palin is dangerous -- and chances are, you are already do -- what she and her husband Todd pulled off this week is just the latest chapter in "Which Palin family member will be sacrificed to make Sarah Palin look like a martyr."

She got a significant percentage of the population to think David Letterman was actually making a sex joke about a 14-year-old girl and got Letterman to apologize profusely for something he never did.

Margaret Carlson of Bloomberg News put it best when talking to Keith Olbermann last night on "Countdown."

"David Letterman did not drag the 14-year-old daughter into this. The Palins dragged the 14-year-old daughter into it. And it was absolutely egregious. And they obviously hunger for this kind of melodrama."

She's not genuinely upset, not at all. And she's not too stupid to realize that she's the one who dragged her kids into the limelight and made them fair game first. She's just hoping WE are, the American public, so she can whip up sympathy for herself--which will not only help people forget faster the whole Bristol fiasco but buff up her image for 2012.

It's all politics and chess playing. Sure, she's dumb but her handlers aren't. They know damn well what they're doing, getting her out there on TV talking this up as if what Letterman said was an antifeminist outrage against young women.

They're trying to curry sympathy...from ALL quarters...to help make her President.

Don't be fooled.

7. Trying to curry sympathy AND air time

Sarah is just beaming with the camera on her again. She isn't pissed off. She is playing pissed off. She is so bad at acting that we can see she is just plain tickled pink to be getting attention again. She is exploiting her children YET AGAIN.

And what this has to do with all 'young women' really baffles me. The joke made fun of three people: A-Rod the notorious womanizer, Spitzer the notorious goofus who got busted for paid womanizing, and a teenager with proven lax sexual judgment who was dragged into the limelight by her mother. Letterman did not disparage young women in general, just one young woman and her over stimulated mother.

Somebody get Sarah a tranquillizer.
