Off the deep end "conservatives."
Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 02:22 PM by Archae
On the Fidonet, three posters are discussing Nancy Pelosi's trip to Syria.

This is what they have to say:

JB>>>> 60 years ago folks would be looking to bring her up on treason
JB>>>> charges.

VH>>> Indeed they would -- in fact, real heroes, like Charles Lindberg made
VH>>> the mistake of being a little too cozy with the Nazis before the war
VH>>> and paid a price for it.

JB>> Today the liberals have turned treason into a sport.

VH> I suggest we have a National Treason Day and celebrate it by hanging
VH> traitors from lamp posts.

....and terrorist sympathizers!

(End of post)

I can't help but be reminded of people in the late 40's and early 50's, (just substitute "commie" for "terrorist,") and the sentiments in "The Turner Diaries."

That's him.

And "VH" is ol' Vern, the failed congressional candidate.
And the last sentence is by "Centurion."

22. Yup, Hardlygreased is still there.
Still spouting his psychotic hatred of the Clintons, (ALL the Clintons,) and the Clenis.

Other than that, all he posts are one-line slams about wanting a "smart liberal" (translation: one who agrees with him,) and whines about the sexuality of those who don't agree with him 100%.

Now even his dreamy former congresscritter, Bob Barr, is slamming George Bush.
So Barr is suddenly persona non grata, in fact, Hardlygreased won't even mention him anymore.

2. Pelosi waged war against the United States or...
...supplied aid and comfort to our enemies? What, is she running guns or something?

4. No, she wore a scarf!
A scarf, I tell you!

It's funny. Normally this amount of attention to wardrobe is only directed at the First Lady.

like Henry Ford and Prescott Bush, not a traitor like Speaker Pelosi. Why do you hate America?

in the whitehouse they think should be called up for treason. Mighty funny that Bush and cheney haven't been called up for treason for outting Valerie Plame. The hypocritical fake bastards!

9. They are bringing up Lindbergh??
Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 02:34 PM by underpants
He was part of "America First" which was a right wing conservative isolationist organization. They actually got members elected to congress only to find out later that these Congressmen (their congressional offices too) were being used by actual German agents.

America First (not Buchanan's use of the term but he isn't that far off from them) protested US involvement in what became WWII both before and AFTER Pearl Harbor but they got wise to how bad that looked and faded back into the woodwork.

Lindbergh and some other rather well known well heeled families (I don't want to mention anyone's grandfather) swooned at the ideals of Hitler with respect to capitalism. The eugenics crowd was in there too.

10. I like the National Treason Day idea.
Since anyone who voted for Bush is effectively guilty of treason, we could do something like the Texas rattlesnake roundup. Only they should be sold into slavery instead of being hanged.

11. "and terrorist sympathizers."
Well, considering the recent news that the administration is now supporting Jundallah, I suppose that puts Dubya squarely on their "traitor" list. Or are Jondallah the *good* Islamofascists?

I heard somewhere that Syria asked Iran to release them.

17. I wonder why that hasn't turned into a cute little contraction
like communist sympathizer became "comsymp". I guess we would just all be lumped together in the "evildoer" category.
