5. I'd wager that if someone were to suggest making America
a haven of asylum for the world's war criminals that many people in government would give thunderous speeches filled with the hot, noxious air of fake outrage.....yet America's own war criminals live freely, merrily fluttering between speaking engagements on and off TV...and even make money defending their war crimes.

7. Insane, ain't it? Ya know, I really wish I could flee to the comfort of denial and illusion.
I will admit to having passing twinges of envy for my empty headed neighbor who is perfectly content to let her fundie pastor tell her what to think about.
Doesn't have to bother her head with compound sentences, has no inquisitive mind beyond the walls of her home, and everything she says is prefaced with " _________says, blah blah". ( which she gets wrong most of the time).
10 minutes trapped in her blathering makes one start to believe in de-evolution.

8. I know what you mean. I look at some people and they're just so
happy in their denial. How do they do it? Every now and then the illusion has to wobble a bit, allowing a glimpse of another world in...surely.

9. Presciption drugs or booze, I thinl. The "acceptable" escapes.
Except for those "high in our Lord".
I had a neighbor who left the Presbyterian church because they were "too liberal".
