2. Interesting, the "deal-making" going on.
Rahm is wheeling and dealing. Why do they need a 108 billion dollar bailout of European banks? Blue dogs vs. progressives. Separate this from war funding.

8. Have you been reading FireDogLake?
Hamsher has been doing her own "whipping", and fairly effectively I might add. She is telling the congresscritters that their votes for the supplemental will not be forgotten nor forgiven. The vote will be a wonder to behold. I can't wait to see how the "progressives" she's targeted vote.

4. A few minutes ago a RWer called up and said Democrats never protest a
war when there's a Dem. Prez. in office, and used the Vietnam war as an example. Caller said there were no protests until Nixon was Prez. Seems to me anti-war protests started in '67 or '68, when Johnson was still Prez. Remember the chant "Hey, Hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" Anti-war protests started well before Nixon took office, and I wish Hamsher knew her history better.

7. Sorry, just got back from an errand. I'm thinking my father told me of anti-war
demonstrators in downtown Manhattan (where his office was), as early as '67. So, earlier than the '68 convention.

6. I missed that. Thanks for posting.
Jane was earlier pointing out what a fix the Progressives are in because Rahm (and Obama) are putting the screws to them to vote for more war spending. Maybe "the people" do need to hit the streets again. The war has become almost a non-issue. Shame.

(BTW, I turned away to watch an amazing segment on Joe Scab with Ed Shultz saying he thinks Cheney WANTS to see an attack on America to prove he was right!)
