Dean brought up a really important point last night
A "legal contract" signed in any state has to be honored in every state by our Constitution. Marriage is a "Legal Contract" He said that DOMA is unconstitutional on those grounds alone..

and many people needed to be informed of that methinks. just like i keep informing people over and over and over again that civil unions do NOT provide the same rights as legal marriage.
so many people to educate, so little time...

The contract only has to be honored if it would be legal in that state. Where DOMA gets dicey is that the FEDS don't want to recognize these legal contracts. It's hard to see how that isn't discriminatory.
