Should all US officials before Bush/Cheney be considered traitors? |
|
This is Cheney's argument. Officials who passed anti-torture laws wanted the US to be attacked. They were in truth terrorist sympathizers who were weak on terror. They were simply unqualified for public office.
Another way of putting it (which also puts Cheney's absurd views into proper perspective): Cheney and Bush were so special that it was worth all the outrage, attacks on soldiers, disgrace, etc. just so they could implement their torture program. And they are both so special that it is better to accept the disgrace, attacks on soldiers, dismantling of the rule of law, etc. than dare hold them accountable.
Why (as a country) are we pretending that Bush/Cheney are putting forth reasonable views?

1. I would go with "All Bush/Cheney officials should be charged with treason" |

Let the trials begin and those that are innocent will go free.
