The five Huns on the Supreme Court
Edited on Fri Jun-19-09 12:00 PM by Cyrano
Yesterday, the Supreme Court decided that a man convicted of rape in Alaska did not have the right to have his DNA tested using the most modern technology. This is a test that might prove the man does not belong in jail.

Of course it was just one more five to four decision, the five being the neanderthals: Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Kennedy. (It should be noted that Kennedy is only a part-time Hun who has occasional moments of sanity in which he votes against the insanity.)

Nonetheless, three states, Alaska, Oklahoma and Massachusetts (of all places) don't allow new evidence such as the most modern DNA tests to be used to clear a prisoner.

WTF. I mean WTF is wrong with this picture? If you've been convicted, screw any evidence that may prove your innocence?

Someone is going to have to explain to me the difference between these five Supreme Court justices and the madman who runs North Korea. He makes up his mind what outcome he wants and then issues orders to make it so. How does he differ in any way from the five Huns on our Supreme Court? This should scare the hell out of all of us.

3. Yep, it really is that simple. So why haven't they done it?

Even so, the five Supreme Court Huns will still be there to enforce and declare whether or not every other piece of insanity that comes along is "constitutional" or not.

The problem is not those three states that won't change their laws. The problem is five insane men who lack an ounce of fundamental humanity.

6. Why haven't they done it?
Because, the citizenry has lost their focus on their circle of influence. We have grown to expect the supreme court or congress or the president to step in and make the state, banks, mortgage company etc.... to behave in a way we desire.

Do you think you have a better chance of influencing your state legislature than you do of influencing the Congress of senate. Might I suggest that we get Dems elected to our state governments and then we truly will have the power.

Put the blame where it belongs, with the DNC and the Blue Dog Coalition and of course with the Republican Party.

4. Fixing blame won't help. Fixing the Supreme Court will.
I don't know whether or not Obama will get to replace one of the five conservatives.

However, Supreme Court Justices can be impeached and removed. It seems to me that Scalia has made enough public statements, in speeches and elsewhere, to indicate he is not fit to serve on the Court. But no one in a position to bring about articles of impeachment seems to care what he says.

So it looks like we're stuck with them until one of them retires.
