"We should be twittering about health care"
I just heard this from a guest on The Ed Show.

Does anyone here have a handle on how to do this on Twitter?

What about with the DU crowd creating a group Twitter for quick updates on what numbers to call and to organize rallies??

1. I think its a good idea. Why not? The only thing we have to lose is our lives to the current
system. Most congress persons are on Twitter; trying to be cool.

2. Then we research how much each of them receives from the "health" industry!

5. Research the amount, and twitter it, is what I'm saying. You and I both know that.
Many others don't.

THAT's our revolution beginning.

3. I guess that would be one way
of showing just how insigificant Twitter is.

9. No harm in trying

I think the Twitter coverage of the situation in Iran was born of suppression of other avenues. However, the attention because of the Iran situation via Twitter, could possibly render Twitter more relevent than it might have otherwise been.

In other words, strike when the iron is hot, which would be now.

I had the same idea but about BushCo accountability/prosecution.

22. We still have yet to see where that goes
It might just end in Tiananmen Square, part two, for all we know. I seem to remember Chinese people using that modern 'fax' technology back in 1989 to get the word out, it really didn't matter in the end.

10. Let's compile a list of facts that we'd like to throw out their...
Maybe campaign donation numbers, #single payer#fail(elected representative).. We need to organize what should be thrown out there.. along with dates of action, places, times, etc. AND there has to be multiple dates and times. Some people still work and have busy lives. In major cities, vigil type actions need to take place, even if it means at 11:00am on in front of a Senator's office, there are only 2 people. If we want it, we need to make action longer than two hours on a Saturday afternoon.

17. Great idea. Short concrete factoids work on Twitter
Also links for further info --- places where it is clear how to join up.

DU can be overwhelming and should have a simple sign up for those attracted through Twitter.

11. Good Idea
but the public knows there is probably something
more important on TV they must see so they just don't
have time for standing up for themselves.

12. It's a must.
Whatever other points you're making, I think it's important to speak out against using regressive taxes (e.g. on cigarettes, soda -- they may get to beer and booze as well) to fund health care on the backs of the poor and working folks.
