Why the Iranian protests might matter to some Americans
Aside from what their political goals might be, aside from whether there's disinformation flying around, aside from whether they want what we might want in terms of freedom or theocracy, aside from whether or not they are organized or coordinated.

What might matter to some Americans who are witnessing events in Tehran and elsewhere, is to see firsthand what it looks like to stand up against your government. If nothing else, I am certain that millions of otherwise complacent Americans are either being inspired or shamed by what they are seeing.

1. Our government will come around. It's only been 5 months as of today.

2. We already see this...
Citizens in Iraq and Afghanistan stand up to their puppet governments every day.

:)

3. This will make a difference...

...when the stellar examples of the Hungarians in 1956, the self-immolating Buddhist monks in '62 and '63, the Czechs in '67, South Africans through two Soweto uprisings, Poles in '81 and '82, Tienanmin Square in '89 and more recently the Burmese did not? Not to mention the courage of fellow Americans in the South against domestic apartheid, and all over the country against the wars in Vietnam and Iraq, the latter twice.

Not bloody likely. Iranian Americans excepted, of course.
