14-year-old Repug has a bright future on Faux News: Already adopting anti-health care talking points
:puke:

He’s conservative, confident — and 14
Jonathan Krohn has been nonstop in the media spotlight since his appearance on a CPAC panel

By John Kessler
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Jonathan Krohn — author, columnist, conservative pundit — has perfected the short guy’s handshake.

It goes like this: Big smile. Arm extended. Elbow crooked. Palm facing downward. One has no choice but to assume his altitude to grasp his hand. And then he’s got you — eye to eye.

The fourteen-year-old talks with Bill Bennett on ‘Morning in America’ radio show on WGKA-AM.This, of course, may change. Unlike the other talking heads with whom he shared the spotlight at the February meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Krohn has not yet had his growth spurt.

“Forgive me for making you wait,” the 14-year-old says, snapping shut his mom’s cellphone with his free hand. “I was just talking to my literary agent. We’re working on the second edition of my book. It will be in stores nationwide early next year … expanded, but with the same principles and ideas.”

Krohn has many things on his plate since the fame that followed his appearance at CPAC. The most pressing, at this moment, is a slab of crumb cake that he wolfs down in a coffee shop near his Duluth
home. As he attacks it, both the mop of curly, dark hair on his head and the American flag pin on his collar bounce along.

Busy boy: He had recently returned from speaking at a Lincoln Day dinner in Chattanooga with Tennessee’s four gubernatorial candidates; he was preparing for a live interview on Bill Bennett’s “Morning In America” radio show with the former Reagan education secretary; and he had just completed a full day of standardized testing. .........(more)

9. I don't want to sound picky
And I know 'wing' is metaphorical, but "one of his folds" would be more appropriate.

3. I've seen this movie before
It was called "The Trip" (2002) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250067/plotsummary

I'm sure that in the end, Jonathan, like Alan in the movie, will realize that his right wing screeds are covering up his true self and he will have a second chance to set things right.

30. Crohn's disease is a serious illness involving the GI tract. It is a miserable condition.
But this kid is obviously misguided. He seems a *young* fourteen with very little life experience yet. Interview him again when he is in his thirties.

6. Who?
A 14 year old has nothing to say about politics that I would find worthy of taking seriously---and that goes for the people on our side too.

We need to go back to the day when pundits were wise, curmudgeonly, white haired old farts.

7. By the time I was 14 I already had a chronic disease
And in my irresponsible way, had failed to contribute enough to my health savings account to pay my expenses for the next 50-60 years. . .

But, knowing this is a good Republican child, I'm sure he has banked enough to cover himself.

27. At almost 20, I already suffer from a neurological disease...
Which will likely costs me hundreds of thousands of dollars to medicate over my lifetime.

I hope I can afford good insurance.

11. The conservatives are trying to create a "generation gap". They've been planning it for decades.
The plan is to turn Gen M against the boomers. They are copying the sixties counter-culture movement. They never think of anything themselves. But astro-turfing fake revolutions doesn't work. REAL revolutions come from the bottom up and look nothing like fake corporate ones.

We can prepare for the attack of the fake children by getting our own to beat them up. That should solve the problem real quick.

I grew up and got smarter. Maybe this kid will do the same.

19. No, it really wasn't "cool" at all. Not even a little bit.
I thought it would be 'COOL', but I only thought that
because I was 14 years old at the time.

'Twas pretty damned INTERESTING, though....
I spent the next few years learning what a lot of stuff is like.

Public office? This is brilliant! Their spokespersons are young teens and bimbos like Meghan McCain (see posts about Bill Maher's show on HBO).

18. It seems like child exploitation to me.
I don't happen to be a parent, but if I had a child who was interested in politics, I would encourage him to do something like run for SGA office, keep reading the newspaper, stay informed, etc. I have no idea why this boy's parents are allowing him to speak publicly on matters he knows nothing about.

Of course the conservatives aren't going to do anything to stop it because it gives them the opportunity to shout, "Those mean 'ol libruls are picking on a chyuld! Waaaaaah!!"

20. Let him go to college.
Then once he gets exposed to a real secular education, instead of the insular religious one his parents provided him, he may yet come to see the errors of his youthful ways...

We have 24 hour prayer clubs. Young republicans...

The Campus Crusaders. I kid you not, that is their name.

Unfortunately, not every campus is safe from the conservative talking points.

the Gwinnett Daily Post covers his antics and opinions from time to time.

I, however, cannot wait until he moves out of his parents' house and has to make it on his own.
