You gotta read this...Bork says the SCOTUS is very liberal and Clarence Thomas is his favorite jurist! You can't make this s**t up!

2. There's a reason this jackass was Borked.
A basic requirement for a Supreme Court Justice is that he believe in the Constitution. This guy doesn't.

25. A bit redundant, isn't it?
"repuke whore"?

Will Newsweek soon be treating us to Rev. Fred Phelps thoughts on tolerance?

How about KKKarl Rove's insights on transparency and integrity in government?

23. Running out of idiots
The "liberal" media is running out of shills to parrot the corporate line. They are caught in a backwater, trolling for gems of reactionary wit while the river has changed course and left them to get stuck on a sand bar. Soon they are going to drop the silly requirement for their talking heads that both of their eyes maintain focus on the same point.

27. Bork was Nixon's acting AG and fired Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox.
As Solicitor General, Bork was instrumental in the "Saturday Night Massacre", the October 20, 1973 firing of Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox, following Cox's request for tapes of Oval Office conversations. U.S. President Richard Nixon initially ordered his Attorney General, Elliot Richardson, to fire Cox. Richardson resigned rather than carry out the order. Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus, who considered the order "fundamentally wrong"<8>, followed this example. After these resignations, Bork became acting Attorney General. Though Bork believed Nixon's order to be valid and appropriate, he considered resigning to avoid being "perceived as a man who did the President's bidding to save my job". Richardson and Ruckelshaus told Bork he should not resign to avoid the damage a chain of resignations would do to the Department of Justice.<8> When Nixon reiterated his order, Bork complied and fired Cox. He remained acting Attorney General until the appointment of William B. Saxbe on December 17 1973.

44. Race and gender. I want a wise judge. If that Judge also happens to be Latina. That's fine.
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 08:46 AM by Wizard777
But she can't lead with that and claim to be unbiased. She has recently resigned from a womans club. If that is a problem for her as a SCOTUS Justice. That is also a problem for her on the current Bench she occupies. She seems to be very politically minded and active. That's a no no for a judge. She seems more inclined to use the bench for social engineering, more appropriately done by Congress, than Justice. As Senator Sotomayor. I would support her whole heartedly. But Justice Sotomayor. Oh heeeeeell no! She's far too political for that.

Let me ask you a question. If she were nominated by George Bush instead. Would you still support the nomination? Could you still overlook her poor choice of words or would they be the albatross around her neck? Keeping in mind that as a Justice her "poor choice of words" will bear the force of Supreme Law.
