If we're stuck with a 2 party system - how about the Corprocrats and the Rest of Us (the ROU)
Those interested in serving the corporate overlords at the expense of the wellbeing of the general public can unite under one banner, the Corprocrats, also known as the I Got Mine or IGM Party. That would be Republicans and the Blue Dogs and others whose true concern for the public has proven spurious. I think we can all pick them out. The leftover probable minority, those actually focused on the common good of the citizens, can form the nucleus of the new ROU Party.

I can devise a simple test to predict the numbers of each Party. Those who have the majority of their income derived from dividends and interest (1099s) whose major concerns are low taxes on the wealthy, capital gains taxes, etc. will be attracted to the IGM Party. Those who have the majority of their income derived from wages (W2s) will be attracted to the ROU Party.

I believe that the IGMs will dominate initially as incumbents, but since the majority of the country is ROU, in short order those numbers will turn around.

The ROU will stand for:

Civil Rights for All
Single Payer Healthcare
Return to Rule of Law and everything that implies
Election reform - paper ballots
Nationalization of Utilities, Mass Transit
Living Wage Laws tied to inflation
Environmental Responsibility and Innovation
Responsible and Reasonable Regulation and oversight of private industry/business

and anything else that REALLY promotes the general health and welfare of the citizens of the country.

This started off as a daydream, but I wonder if it could really be implemented? How would you divide up the people in Congress right this minute? Who would form the core of ROU? What Democrats would you exile to the Corprocratic IGM Party?
