why do you fight anything if you won't stop your own society from
murdering Troy Davis?

i am in shock from seeing how few here, how few in georgia, how few in this country give a fucking damn.

why? tell me why.

3. Thanks for the link - I don't watch MSM news very much lately
I'm too busy with a new job and trying to help a homeless person get back on her feet.

allowed to be heard.

but he is frequently here on DU, through the years of this fight. by the dozen so folks who always show up, knowing how much it matters.

it is most wonderful that you are helping a homeless person. a very fine example, slackmaster. thank you.

5. The problem is one of extensity.
We kill more people in one day overseas then we execute here in 10 years.

6. you think that is NOT the direct result of the devaluing of life in
'our own back yards'?

especially when it is 'RACE'-BASED.

of course they are inextricably linked.

i just can't quite figure out how to want to rescue a country that will still do it, and whose even-progressive people will LET it happen. though yes, of course we MUST rescue the rest of the world FROM us. of course.

but also understand this aspect of this particular murder:
the powers involved are using this to try to establish that it is constitutional to execute the known innocent if they are too poor for a lawyer.

it's not as if plenty haven't heard there is something grotesquely wrong with this happening. so, why do they care less?
a black man in prison, perhaps? even if innocent?

7. IF we consent, by silence, to lynching by our own states, then why
even pretend to care about such things elsewhere?

i know people get off on telling other countries and societies how to do everything; and the vicarious rush of armchair revolting....

but when it comes down to it, it is absolute play-acting as long as we let our own be lowest of the low.
