Resources for people who have reached wits end?
Edited on Tue Jun-23-09 08:59 PM by Mike 03
This is not intended to be an emotional post about people who are struggling, although god knows I understand.

Now and then someone will post here on DU in the midst of a crisis, and someone will post some resources for how to get help.

That just seems to be awesome.

My idea was just to have a thread where people could turn if they are feeling very, very depressed, or like they need to talk to someone, or need help of any kind, and maybe we could post some help lines or hot lines for them.

Maybe for soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan

Or people losing their homes

Or parents doing their best to raise their children and running into roadblocks, like "How can I send my childrend to college..."

Or mothers coping with the loss of a loved one and raising children, or anyone who has a loved one dying of a terminal illness who feels like giving up.

It can feel so bad sometimes, and sometimes it's good to have someone to talk to.

Believe me, I know talk seems cheap. But sometimes it really comes from the pit of the soul, and my heart goes out to anyone who is suffering at this moment, and this post is just about posting any help you can possibly think of to help anyone who is suffering right now, since this is such a bad time for so many people.

Perhaps we can pull together and create a list of resources where we can turn during these difficult times.

:loveya:

1. I bet I know exactly which thread made you ask this.
Sometimes your heart just gets ripped out hearing some very sad tales and feeling helpless to do anything concrete.

I have wondered if we couldn't put together a Prosper.com group of Lenders at low, low, low (as in almost non-existent) interest rates to help fellow Duer's.

2. Morning kick for Mike... one of DU's most caring and understanding posters.
